Product Description

The alkyd finish not only has good gloss and mechanical strength, but also dries naturally at room temperature, has strong film, has good adhesion and outdoor weather resistance.
Product characteristics
- Alkyd topcoat is mainly for field use. Coating by airless spraying in the workshop is easy to cause too thick coating, slow down the drying process and cause difficulties in handling. Coating too thick will also wrinkle when reapplied after aging.
- Other alkyd finish resin coatings are more suitable for shop pre-coating. Gloss and surface finish depend on the coating method. Avoid mixing multiple coating methods as much as possible.
- Like all alkyd coatings, alkyd topcoats have limited resistance to chemicals and solvents and are not suitable for underwater equipment, or where there is prolonged contact with condensate. Alkyd finish is not suitable for recoating on epoxy resin coating or polyurethane coating, and can not be reapplied on zinc containing primer, otherwise it may cause saponification of alkyd resin, resulting in loss of adhesion.
- When brushing and rolling, and when using certain colors (such as yellow and red), it may be necessary to apply two alkyd topcoats to ensure that the color is uniform, and multiple colors can be made. In the United States, due to local transportation regulations and local use of rosin, the flash point of this product is 41 ° C (106°F), which has no impact on paint performance.

Safety measure
- This Alkyd paint is flammable, and contains volatile flammable solvents, so it must be away from Mars and open flame.
- It is strictly prohibited to smoke in the workplace, and effective measures should be taken to prevent the occurrence of Mars (such as the use of explosion-proof electrical equipment, to prevent the accumulation of static electricity, to avoid metal impact, etc.).
- The construction site should be well ventilated as far as possible. In order to eliminate explosion hazards during use, sufficient ventilation should be ensured to maintain the gas/air ratio does not exceed 10% of the minimum explosion limit, usually 200 cubic meters of ventilation per kilogram of solvent,(related to the type of solvent) can maintain the minimum explosion limit of 10% of the working environment.
- Take effective measures to prevent skin and eyes from direct contact with the paint (such as the use of work clothes, gloves, goggles, masks and protective oil, etc.). If your skin comes into contact with the product, wash thoroughly with water, soap or appropriate industrial detergent. If eyes are contaminated, rinse immediately with water for at least 10 minutes and seek medical attention immediately.
- In the construction, it is recommended to wear a mask to avoid inhaling paint fog and harmful gases, especially in the poor ventilation environment, more attention. Finally, please handle the waste paint bucket carefully to avoid polluting the environment.
Surface treatment
- All surfaces to be coated should be clean, dry and pollution-free.
- All surfaces shall be judged and treated according to ISO 8504:2000 prior to painting. A pre-primed alkyd finish should always be applied on top of the recommended anti-rust paint.
- The primer surface should be dry and non-contaminated, and the alkyd finish must be applied at specified reapplication intervals (refer to the relevant product instructions). Peeling and damaged areas should be treated to specified standards (e.g. Sa2 1/2 (ISO 8501-1:2007) or SSPC-SP6 spray treatment standards. Or SSPC-SP11 Manual/Dynamic Treatment standard) and apply primer to these areas before applying alkyd top coat.
